Omoda Jaecoo is going from strength to strength in 2026, with May being another record month for the brand.

For the first time since launching 12 months ago, Omoda Jaecoo finished 13th overall with 2570 deliveries, while the J5 EV was the best-selling electric small SUV for the month of May.

“It’s crazy to think we only cracked 1000 sales for the first time earlier this year and now we’re celebrating over 2500 registrations just a few months later,” said Roy Munoz Chief Commercial Officer, Omoda Jaecoo Australia.

“To do this in such a short time is a real testament to our 60 strong dealer network and further proof Aussies have growing confidence in our products.”

Behind the brand’s accelerated growth is the J5 EV, which has been a smash hit since landing at the end of 2025.

In May alone, 2126 units were registered making it the best-selling electric small SUV, while the entire J5 range finished seventh for overall (2172 total) monthly sales.

This success has also been mirrored in other markets such as Thailand and Indonesia. Six months in a row has seen the J5 top Thailand’s EV sales, while over 10,000 units have been delivered between January and April in Indonesia.

In 2026 so far, Omoda Jaecoo Australia has consecutively increased sales and recorded over 1000 deliveries three months straight (March – May).

June will also be the first full month of sale for the J5 petrol, which starts from just $25,990 Driveaway. The first 1000 customers ordering a J5 petrol will also receive 3 years’ free servicing.
