Jaecoo Australia is excited to reveal pricing and specification for its first 7-seat SUV, the J8 SHS (Super Hybrid System).

Sitting atop the J8 range, the SHS is offered in one generously appointed variant (Summit), which is priced from $59,990 MSRP.

Elevated style and practicality

At first glance, the J8 demands attention with its bold, rounded interpretation of Jaecoo’s signature waterfall grille, framed by striking projector-style LED headlights and sweeping LED daytime running lights. Sitting confidently on 20-inch alloy wheels, with Jaecoo lettering across the rear light bar, the J8 looks powerful from every angle.

Customers can choose from four stunning exterior colours: Arctic White, Carbon Black, Ocean Blue, and Iridium Silver, ensuring the J8 stands out wherever it goes.

The J8’s stylish interior doesn’t come at the cost of space with its 7-seat layout providing ample room for the whole family.

Luggage capacity (VDA) is rated at 200-litres with the third row in place and 738-litres with the third-row seats folded flat.

Power meets efficiency

The J8 is powered by the brand’s revolutionary Super Hybrid System (SHS), which offers incredible performance without negatively affecting fuel and electric energy consumption.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 105kW/215Nm, teams with two front electric motors and a single rear unit. The electric motors produce 75kW/170Nm, 90kW/220Nm and 175kW/310Nm (rear) respectively.

With a combined output of 315kW/580Nm, this large SUV delivers a total driving range of over 1,000km.

All wheel drive is achieved through an electric motor powering the rear axle and power is sent to the front wheels via an advanced Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (3DHT).

Travelling up to 169km (NEDC) without charging, the battery has a capacity of 34kWh and can be charged up to 70kW on a DC fast charger.

The J8 SHS also has a maximum towing capacity of 750kg (non-braked trailer) and 1600kg (braked trailer).

Sophisticated technology

Sitting atop of the Jaecoo family, this large SUV delivers a high-end motoring experience with luxurious features that includes heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, 14-speaker Sony sound system including 2 driver headrest speakers, plus an in-built fragrance system.

There’s also the brand’s innovative “Hello Jaecoo” voice control system, which allows the driver to adjust the climate control, open the sunroof or windows and change the radio station without taking their hands off the steering wheel.

Class-leading safety

Safety is at the core of all Omoda Jaecoo products, and the J8 comes equipped with an array of active and passive safety features.

Occupants are protected by 10 airbags and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

Stress-free motoring

Like all new Omoda Jaecoo vehicles, the J8 comes with an 8-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 8 years of capped priced servicing and an 8-year unlimited kilometre warranty for the high voltage battery.

On top of this, there’s also up to 8 years of roadside assistance.

The J8 Summit SHS will be available in dealerships this month.
