Last night at the International User Summit, Omoda Jaecoo hosted Omoda X Night, which saw the global reveal of Omoda’s latest model dubbed “X”.

Combining the everyday practicality of an SUV, the adventurous spirit of an off-road vehicle and the dynamic character of a sports car, the Omoda X expands the possibilities of crossover and offers a new automotive choice for customers.

Drawing inspiration from futuristic ‘mecha culture’, Omoda X brings power, technology and a vision of the future into its design. An assertive wide-body stance, broad shoulders, a tightly sculpted waistline and a sporty silhouette create a sense of power.

Sitting below the Omoda 9, the Omoda X measures 4650mm long, 1910mm wide and 1720mm tall.

Matching the adventurous design, the Omoda X features 19-inch alloy wheels with rugged all-terrain tyres, 200 mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of over 700mm.

Towing capacity is rated up to 1,800kg, while the roof has a load capacity of 75kg and there’s 39 storage spaces providing more room for equipment for outdoor activities.

Inside, the design language continues with the ‘Mecha Command Cockpit’, which creates a strong sense of control through its twin-wing layout and X-shaped floating center console.

There’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, while physical controls for frequently used functions such as air conditioning and driving modes bring together futuristic aesthetics and intuitive operation.

Under the skin, the Omoda X is powered by the brand’s latest new energy technology, with full electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The exclusive X-MODE allows drivers to adjust vehicle settings and performance response to match their preferences, allowing everyone to find their own driving style.

Two-wheel Drive (2WD) and All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) options will also be offered.

A major first for the Omoda Jaecoo brand, the Omoda X features an infrared thermal imaging night vision system, which helps identify potential hazards up to 90 meters away, providing additional environmental awareness for nighttime driving.

"It’s exciting to see the innovative products coming from our global headquarters, and the reveal of the Omoda X marks another significant step forward for the brand", said Roy Munoz, Chief Commercial Officer, Omoda Jaecoo Australia.

"Combining a futuristic, rugged design with groundbreaking technology, including a thermal imaging camera, the Omoda X demonstrates our commitment to challenging conventions and pushing the boundaries of what customers can expect from a modern vehicle".

The Omoda X is yet to be confirmed for Australia, with further details set to be revealed at a later date.
